This weekend, Smash Music will be getting
down and dirty at this years Download Festival!
We'll mostly be drinking Jack
Daniels, getting hit in the head with various objects down in 'the pit', interviewing loads of bands, going to all-night backstage parties... Oh, and seeing loads of great bands! Speaking of which, below are a handful of bands that
we reckon you must see this weekend!
Enter Shikari - Myspace/Gibson Stage -
Friday 2:20pm
Smash Music discovered these guys 2 years ago in their hometown of St.Albans
playing to just a handful of people. Don't worry, they're not a scene band and they're not
emo. Enter Shikari are a full on disco-hardore attack. Make sure you catch 'em!
Engerica - Myspace/Gibson Stage - Friday 6:20pm
This Essex based band released their spanking debut album just a few months ago. Live, they are
frantic and exciting. Ones to watch out for!
Devil Driver - Snickers Stage - Saturday 1:05pm
Ex-Coal Chamber man Dez Fafara returns even heavier with his new band Devil Driver. Everything
this man is involved with is simply awesome. Their stage time doesn't really do them justice so
check 'em out if you're awake early enough!
This is Menace - Myspace/Gibson Stage - Saturday 5:00pm
Any band that's got members of Pitchshifter, Hiding Place, Amen, FFAF, Hundred Reasons and Earthtone9 in it has got to
be pretty fucking special! They very rarely play shows at all - logistically
it's not that easy getting 20 band members together!
Reuben - Myspace/Gibson Stage - Saturday 7:50pm
Okay so they've been around for ages and during that time they've managed to gain a huge
fan-base in the U.K.
Reuben are guaranteed to impress at Download so make sure you drop by and see them.
Hundred Reasons - Snickers Stage - Sunday 4:05pm
Back with their third album after Doran popped off for a while with his side-project The Lucky Nine,
Hundred Reasons are going to be as up for it as a very, very friendly girl from
Soho... If you catch my drift. Don't miss them!
Funeral for a Friend - Main Stage - Sunday 6:30pm
Okay, I know it's blatantly obvious but we had to mention them! FFAF are always a real treat live,
and as they bring touring for their second album 'Hours' to a close, it should be
absolutely mental. The pit is sure to be nuts when FFAF are on!
