Oh joyous rapture and the want to skank. Thank God for Les Incompetents. It is almost as if representatives of Art Brut and The Libertines and The Mystery Jets met up in a studio and decided that there was something missing in peoples lives, a hole that needed plugging and plugging fast.
That thing was an injection of punk into their rough around the edges disjointed indie garage rock. So now we have Les Incompetents and more specifically, ‘How It All Went Wrong’ an ode of sorts, that starts out all ballad and no trousers yet quickly descends in to sweet farce, while the tempo picks up and layer upon layer of debacle is exposed and enriched with shouts of “discothèque”.
It all quite beautifully falls apart into organised random chaos as sung by Timone and Puumba under the influence.
