Where else can you find such rich layers of musicianship and Wayne Coyne’s penchant for making the darkest of lyrical themes sound so nursery rhyme, so poppy and lush? Yeah Yeah Yeah song is the awesome comeback single after an absence of about far too long. A comeback single with a title that is easily confused with the three piece New York band The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, but their new single ‘Gold Lion’ is rubbish, so banish them from your mind and focus in on this potential elitist indie lovers single of the year.
YYY song is so clever and different without departing from that distinctive Flaming Lips sound. Behold this beautiful commotion of dark dark content wrapped as joy about G.W Bush and his destructive and ill considered ways. The Flaming Lips should be deployed by the UN as peacemakers.
