This is the inevitable Bloc Party meets Joy Division brigade. Which is a shame as they have obvious talent, but this is the typical crying, whiny all been done before soggy pants that the indie press are all getting their rocks off too.

All too uninspiring I say.

Now, flip it to the b-side and you get something with a little more spunk to it. Where on ‘When I’m Alone’ the singer proves he can soar his vocals with the best of ‘em. Here on ‘Holiday In The Sun (Demo)’ he brings himself down to live amongst the inner city grimy London lot.

With scratchy ska undertones of the later Specials moments they tell you a tale of being told what to do and when to do it. Their story is of saying fuck it ‘i’ll worry more about my life tomorrow’ after being told to stop playing music and ‘get your heads out of the clouds’.

It’s like Quadrophenia all over again. Ordinary Boys fans will love it.
