The Flies are the brain child of the talented Sean Cook of Spiritualized, and when we interviewed him a year or so ago on the release of The Flies debut album, we were left with high expectations.
The trouble is, since then, well The Flies haven't really got anywhere. They've returned now with a new single, 'High' and it's business as usual. It's carried along by a plodding bass riff, but there's not much else to say really. It's has a nice chorus, but the song never really goes anywhere with Cook opting for a repetitiveness that's taken the life out of a potentially decent track.
Trust me, it's not worth four minutes of your time.
