Hot Hot Heat return with a third album and the first single is 'Let Me In'.
With this band being one of my favourites, I was excited to hear what their new material is like, but with this new single, i am distraught as to what i have just heard. Surely Hot Hot Heat haven't buckled under the pressure or temptation to water themselves down to the levels of emo? Surely they wouldn't ruin all that great work they've done with the first two albums by changing their direction this way?
Well, i haven't heard the album but 'Let Me In' is pretty much the worst possible outcome i think i could imagine of a record by this band. The intro and verse have ann annoying keyboard sound - you know, just like Pulp... Pulp for f-sake! Then there's the big emo chorus. No, i'm not joking.
There i was wondering how extreme they'd come back as, how fast they'd be this time, how amazing the lyrics would be... and all we get it this. I'm still in disbelief. Let me out.
